Chop Chop's update
(1 November 2005),

Just a quick update on Chop Chop and Sylvia. Both doing really well. Chop Chop's bandages are off now, he did resemble a star fish bless, after the bandages came off, and his skin had some iritation/infection from the bandages, however he was really looking well and full of beans.
Thanks again to everyone for their support and donations towards the medical bill.
We were really lucky with Dr Shane as he mentioned that he dealt with a lot of orthopedic surgeries whilst he was in South Africa, so he was definitely a god send for Chop Chop.
Chop Chop endured over 6 hours of surgery, and we weren't sure how he'd cope, but he's really come around well, and we're so pleased that we can say at this point that the surgery was a success.
Even though the little guy had multiple fractures and has lost a limb, I hope this really does encourage people to give them a chance. I know financially it seems out of reach, and I must admit I always gasp when I hear how much a treatment is going to be. But I wouldn't say no in the future to any animal needing this kind of surgery and I promise to do everything to come up with the funds. When you see how well they are doing, you can't let money stand in the way of something like this (hahaha easier said than done), but it WAS possible this time round.
I know many people will say there are plenty of healthy ones out there to save, so why spend so much money saving the sickly ones. Well we'll do what we can to save the sickly ones any old day.
I really hope we don't come across any more cases like this though, in a perfect world we wouldn't. But I know around the corner there will be another case. I really pray that we can help the kittens that do come our way.
Thanks again to everyone who's donated, promoted, petitioned and cared for these little guys. They are doing well with thanks to everyone's help. Updated pictures to follow of Chop Chop and Slyvia.
